School year off to a good start; everyone was excited to see each other

New lighting throughout the building (LED); teachers can now dim lights
First lockdown drill this coming Thursday
Fire drill will be 9/12; Rascal Rally will also be 9/12
All of the kinders will start on Monday; Casian has 30 kinders on her roster and two IAs; if the number exceeds 33 the kinder class will need to be split.
Noting decreased enrollment across the district; however, there is no concern about this impacting staffing at Salem Heights at this time.
Gym floor has been resurfaced
Assistance Request:
Amy Morris is requesting $1568 for a set of 24 scooters for PE.
The current scooters are no longer safe to use, too small, and risk scratching the new floor. 250 students would be using the new set.
Request tabled until the budget meeting in October.
