I am a wife and stay-at-home mother to 2 boys, 12 and 9. My youngest, Max, is in the 4th grade. I love gardening…except for when it is hot and I spend way too much time with my nose in a book or trying to coax hummingbirds at my outside feeder to perch on my finger. Unfortunately, I am not the hummingbird whisperer, yet. I look forward to the new school year at Salem Heights Elementary!

My name is Shanna Israel and I have been associated with the PTC for 3 years and am currently the Treasurer. My youngest child is now in 4th grade and my eldest is now in middle school. Being part of the PTC has really helped me to feel that I am helping my children's experience at Salem Heights and my kids love to know that I help out when and where I can.

I am a full time stay-at-home dad. My son Carter is entering the 2nd grade and my daughter Tina is a brand new kindergartner. Originally from north Portland, I moved to Salem ten years ago to settle with my wife, Tricia. I have a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Portland and a Master of Forestry from Oregon State. I am the fourth generation of my family to work in the woods. As a dad, I enjoy cooking for my family, Christmas, and summer hiking trips. You can probably find me with Carter and Tina on the playground after school.
